| The screaming ghost of Laura Schaefer is said to be heard at 2:00 A.M. at the top of the stairs here. Sometimes sobbing sounds are heard or footsteps racing down the stairs. Laura was dressing for her wedding one day, when she got too close to her bedroom fireplace and her dress caught fire. She died on the first floor at the foot of the stairs. Haunted Places,p.416. |
