THE GHOST OF A WOMAN, BUTTERTOES RESTAURANT, PORTLAND, OREGON |
| The ghost of a woman in a high collar dress, with her hair bobbed up, has been seen so mant times that the employees here call her Lydia. Sometimes only the the upper or lower half of the ghost appears, other times, only her old-fashioned black shoes can be seen. A waitress quit after seeing the apparitoin, a cook was touched by the ghost, and four people renting rooms have encountered the female phantom. Lydia is known to dislikejokes about her and she seems to go out of her way to show herself to unbelievers.Hauck, p.349 |
